Clark Montessori picked up a hard-fought win over Shroder Paideia Academy, edging out the Jaguars 9-8 in a competitive matchup. While it wasn’t the same margin as their previous meeting, the Cougars showed resilience and execution when it mattered most.
Rowan Sierschula and Mason Hunt led the way with standout performances on both the mound and at the plate. Sierschula threw two strong innings, allowing just one earned run on one hit. Hunt was dominant in relief, striking out a career-high 10 batters over 4.2 innings while surrendering just one earned run on three hits.
Offensively, both players contributed as well. Sierschula finished 1-for-4 with a stolen base, two RBI, and a run scored, continuing his hot streak on the bases. Hunt added a 2-for-3 performance with a stolen base, two RBI, and a run.
Jahlil Meatchem delivered an electric performance, reaching base in four of five plate appearances while swiping five bases, scoring once, and driving in a run. Andrew Vollner also made key contributions, getting on base three times, scoring three runs, and adding two stolen bases.
With the win, Clark Montessori improves to 1-0 on the season. Shroder Paideia Academy also moves to 1-1 following the loss.
The Cougars will be back in action on the road Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. against Summit Country Day.
